Free trick or treat party on Andover High Street, 6pm to 8pm on Saturday 31 October, plus a torchlit museum funfair, owl nights, Finkley and Paultons.

Andover’s own Halloween night is on the High Street. Andover Community Events runs a free trick or treat party from 6pm to 8pm on Saturday 31 October, outside the Guildhall, with treats from the Night Market stalls and the shops, a Halloween disco and a pumpkin competition. Two hours earlier, the Museum of the Iron Age opens its doors for a free torchlit funfair. Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, at the end of half term, so both are easy to do in one evening.

Every event below was checked on the organiser’s own page, or on Test Valley Borough Council’s town centre listings, on 3 October 2026.

The quick answer

  • Free on Halloween night: the High Street Trick or Treat Party, 6pm to 8pm, and the Ghastly Funfair at the Museum of the Iron Age, 4.30pm to 7pm (entry free, game tokens extra).
  • The big days out: Spooky Owl Week at the Hawk Conservancy Trust (24 October to 1 November, normal ticket), Halloween at Finkley Down Farm (17 to 31 October) and Paultons Park’s Halloween Spooktacular (9 October to 2 November).
  • Pumpkin picking: Bourne Valley PYO at St Mary Bourne grew 20,000 pumpkins for last October, but had not published 2026 pumpkin dates when we checked.

Halloween night: Saturday 31 October

Andover High Street Trick or Treat Party, 6pm to 8pm, in front of the Guildhall, free. The organiser, the volunteer group Andover Community Events, describes it as a safe evening of trick or treating around the Night Market and participating local businesses, followed by a Halloween disco. Children are encouraged to come in fancy dress, and to bring a pumpkin already carved for the best pumpkin judging. The event is free; the organiser suggests bringing spending money for the market and shops. The council lists it too, on its town centre events calendar.

Museum by Torchlight: The Ghastly Funfair, 4.30pm to 7pm, Museum of the Iron Age, 6 Church Close, SP10 1DP. Hampshire Cultural Trust turns the museum into a “marvelously macabre funfair” by torchlight. Entry is free; you buy tokens to swap for the games, and it is a prize every time. The museum is a few minutes’ walk from the Guildhall, so you can go straight on to the High Street party at 6pm.

Pumpkin painting at The Kitten’s Emporium, George Yard, SP10 1PD, noon to 5pm on Halloween day, booked through the shop’s events page. The same session runs on Sunday 25 and Thursday 29 October.

The big days out

Spooky Owl Week, Hawk Conservancy Trust, Weyhill, SP11 8DY, every day from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November. The Woodland Wonders flying display becomes a Spooky Owl Show with special effects and storytelling, and children can solve riddles on giant pumpkins along the Spirit of the Forest Trail for a Halloween sticker. It is all included in the normal ticket: £24.50 for adults, £17.65 for children aged 4 to 15, under 4s free (prices include a 10% voluntary donation). The Trust recommends booking ahead in the school holidays.

Owl-O-Ween is the evening version, on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 October. Food is on sale from 5.30pm and the first of two flying displays starts at 7pm, with a Halloween trail beforehand and ghostly storytelling. Tickets are £23, excluding food and drink, and every child must be with a full paying adult. The Trust says there are no jump scares but asks parents to use their discretion with very young children.

Halloween at Finkley, Finkley Down Farm, east of Andover. The full Halloween event runs on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October and every day from Saturday 24 to Saturday 31 October, with a Barn of Bones, a ghost hunt round the farm, walkabout characters and Halloween discos with a balloon drop at 12pm and 3pm. On the weekdays before half term, 19 to 23 October, it runs a gentler Mini Halloween for little ones. Everything is included in a day ticket, which the farm asks you to book online; prices are shown only in its booking system. A SEND early access session is on Wednesday 28 October.

Halloween Spooktacular, Paultons Park, Ower, near Romsey, SO51 6AL, from Friday 9 October to Monday 2 November. The park’s Halloween shows, The Great Halloween Mystery and Spirit Squad Ghoul School, run from 17 October, and Peppa Pig World is decorated for the season. There are late openings on 17, 23, 24, 27, 28 and 29 October at no extra charge, though Peppa Pig World still closes at 6pm. The Halloween shows are included in the ticket. Water Kingdom, Muddy Puddles and Seal Falls are closed for the event.

Pumpkin picking near Andover

The nearest pumpkin field is Bourne Valley PYO, Strawberry Fields, Egbury Road, St Mary Bourne, SP11 6DQ. Its own blog says the team planted 20,000 pumpkins and munchkins for the October 2025 harvest, from white Ghost pumpkins to stripy Carnival. On 3 October 2026 the farm’s pick your own page still read “pumpkin season has now finished”, left over from last year, and no 2026 opening dates were published. The farm says opening days change with the weather and asks visitors to check its Facebook and Instagram before travelling. We will add the dates when the farm publishes them.

If you would rather paint than pick, The Kitten’s Emporium’s pumpkin painting sessions (25, 29 and 31 October) and the pumpkin carving at Andover Trees United’s Awesome Autumn storytelling at Harmony Woods (Friday 30 October, 10.30am to 12.30pm, £10 a child including a pumpkin) are the alternatives in town.

For older children

  • Bats and Blasters, Riverside Activity Zone, 22 to 30 Bridge Street, Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October, arrival from 5pm: unlimited laser tag, a pizza buffet and a Halloween goodie bag for £12 a child, pitched as the alternative to trick or treating (listed in the council’s half term round-up).
  • Spooky Stories and Folklore Tales at The Kitten’s Emporium on Friday 30 October: a session for under 7s from 2.45pm and one for ages 7 and over from 5.30pm (events page).

Getting there and parking

The trick or treat party and the funfair are both in the town centre. Our parking in Andover page lists the car parks closest to the High Street and Church Close, and the Andover roadworks page has any closures that week. The council had not published a road closure for the trick or treat party when we checked.

Also that week

  • Half term for Hampshire schools is Monday 26 to Friday 30 October. Every family event that week, Halloween or not, is on our October half term in Andover page.
  • The clocks go back on Sunday 25 October, the morning of the Andover Half Marathon.
  • Bonfire night is the week after. Thruxton’s Glitter n Glow and Andover Golf Club’s display are both on Saturday 7 November: see Andover fireworks.

Still to be confirmed

  • Bourne Valley PYO’s 2026 pumpkin dates and prices.
  • Finkley’s Halloween ticket prices, which appear only once you start a booking.
  • Paultons Park’s closing time on late-opening nights, which the Halloween page does not give.
