One display near Andover is confirmed for 2026: Glitter n Glow at Thruxton, Saturday 7 November. Andover Golf Club has no date yet and no tickets are on sale.
Bonfire night 2026 falls on Thursday 5 November. A midweek fifth pushes the organised displays onto the weekend either side, and in this part of Test Valley that means Friday 6 and Saturday 7 November.
As of 5 September 2026, one display in the Andover area has a confirmed 2026 date: the Glitter n Glow Firework Festival at Thruxton Race Circuit on Saturday 7 November. The town’s other regular display, at Andover Golf Club, has no 2026 date on any published source, including the club’s own website. Everything below was checked against organisers’ own material this week.
Glitter n Glow, Thruxton Race Circuit, Saturday 7 November
This is the biggest fireworks event on the Andover side of the borough, and it is the one with a 2026 date.
Visit Hampshire’s listing gives it as Saturday 7 November 2026 from 6pm at Thruxton Race Circuit, Andover SP11 8PN, describing it as “a full evening festival with fireworks, live music, glowing entertainment and a funfair”. It is run by Andover Community Events, sponsored by Thruxton Circuit Ltd, and the profits go to local charities including Koala.
Everything else is genuinely unannounced. The listing itself says “More details are to be announced”, and there is no start time for the display, no price and no booking link. We checked the organiser’s ticketing platform directly: the Thruxton Circuit box office at thruxton.ticketco.events returns “We are sorry but nothing has been found matching your search criteria”, so no 2026 tickets were on sale on 5 September.
For scale, the 2025 edition ran on Saturday 1 November from 5.30pm to 10pm at the same venue, with fireworks, live music, a funfair and food, and all profits to Koala. Expect a similar shape rather than the same prices.
One warning about search results. Visit Test Valley, the borough’s own tourism site, still carries the 2025 date on its Glitter n Glow page, complete with a booking link to a ticket page that no longer sells anything. Visit Hampshire has the 2026 date. Where the two disagree, the later date is the one with the 2026 listing behind it.
Ampfield Golf and Country Club, Friday 6 November
The only priced display in the borough is at the southern end of it, near Romsey. Visit Hampshire’s listing gives Ampfield Golf and Country Club’s Fireworks Night as Friday 6 November 2026, with the outdoor kitchen and bar opening at 5pm and the fireworks over the course at 7.30pm.
- Adult: £12
- Child: £6
- Family: £30
- Tickets from the clubhouse
- The club address is Winchester Road, Ampfield SO51 9BQ
Parking is the catch. The listing is explicit that parking is limited and car sharing is encouraged. The club’s own Fireworks Night page carries no date and no prices at the moment, so the listing is the source for both.
Andover Golf Club: no 2026 date yet
Andover Golf Club on Winchester Road has run the town’s own display for years, and Visit Hampshire still describes it as “the main display” within Andover. For 2026 the same listing simply says the date is to be confirmed.
The club’s website does not fill the gap. Its events page carries no upcoming events at all, and there is no fireworks announcement anywhere on the site. On the evidence available on 5 September, the club has not published a 2026 date.
The 2025 event gives you the pattern to plan around: Saturday 1 November, gates at 5pm, fireworks at 7pm, £8 a head or £25 a family in advance from behind the bar, rising to £10 and £30 on the gate, under-5s free. Treat those figures as history, not as this year’s prices. We will update this page as soon as the club publishes a date.
Rookwood School, Whitchurch and Wellow: also silent
Three other displays regularly show up in searches for this area. None of them has a 2026 date.
Rookwood School, Weyhill Road, has run a well-attended fireworks night. Its events page currently lists nothing newer than 2023, and the most recent fireworks announcement in its news archive is from October 2024. Nothing for 2026.
Testbourne Community School in Whitchurch runs the TCS Community Fireworks, which is the display most people in the RG28 end of the patch mean. The 2025 event was Saturday 25 October, gates at 5pm and fireworks at 7pm, with advance tickets at £9 an adult, £6 a child and £25 a family, £10, £6 and £30 on the gate, and £6 per vehicle to park. Visit Hampshire’s page for it is marked as passed and the school’s own site carries no 2026 announcement.
Wellow Primary School, near Romsey, ran its display on Saturday 8 November 2025. Its published school diary runs through November 2026 without a fireworks entry, and the school’s fireworks page now links only to a Facebook group.
The Candover trap
If you search for fireworks near Andover you will find Preston Candover Village Hall Bonfire Night, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Saturday 7 November. It is a real event, but it is not near Andover. Preston Candover sits on the Candover Stream about 20 miles east, in Basingstoke and Deane, and Visit Hampshire files it under Basingstoke for that reason. The letters “andover” sit inside “Candover”, which is why it keeps surfacing.
Getting there and parking
Thruxton is about six miles west of Andover, off the A303. It is the one venue here where the approach roads matter, because a full evening festival at a race circuit empties onto a trunk road. Our Andover roadworks and travel page tracks the closures and resurfacing running across the town and the A303 junctions this autumn.
If you are staying in town instead, the Andover parking page has tariffs and opening hours for every town centre car park, and our things to do in Andover page covers what else is worth a trip that weekend, with every price checked.
What is still to come
- Glitter n Glow: start time for the display, prices, and tickets going on sale. Expect these in late September or October, through the Thruxton TicketCo box office.
- Andover Golf Club: a 2026 date. In past years the announcement has come in early autumn through the club rather than through listings sites.
- Rookwood, Testbourne and Wellow: school displays are usually confirmed in October, through the schools and their parent associations.
Everything on this page was verified against organisers’ own published material on 5 September 2026. Dates and prices change; check the organiser before you travel.
